As one of the ambitious board members of a pharmaceutical company, Zoltan Jakab had no aspirations to start in winemaking untill he inheritated 0.5 ha of beautiful old vineyard called Padi-hegy. His passion and interest in winemaking grew along the way and today his small boutique winery of 3ha. Zoltan ownes now two hectares in the Padihegy and Rány vineyards, He specifically searched for old vineyards planted with old clones of these two indigenous grape varietals. His vines yield small, loose-berried bunches which are capable of delivering great complexity and intensity. He is supported by his winemaker friend; Attilla Homonna, who is among the pioneers producing serious dry wines from the Furmint and Hárslevelű grape varieties in Tokaj. Both gentlemen are in a quest to make world-class dry white wines from the indigenous grape varieties Furmint and Hárslevelű.
